In an interview, former Lapu-Lapu Elementary School principal in tears as Manila City government purchases a lot for the creation of a new, modern school. The Manila City government on Tuesday, August 6, purchased a P33 million lot for the creation of a new and modern Lapu-Lapu Elementary School building.
Aireen Narca Perez, who had been the school’s principal for four and a half years, said the current school at Molave Street corner Morong Street in Tondo, Manila was already dilapidated. “For 53 years, never nagkaroon ng sariling school ang Lapu-Lapu. It has always been renting.
Perez thanked the Manila City government and Ms. Jennylyn Rose Corpuz, Superintendent of the Division of City Schools – Manila. “Nag-pursue ako na makahanap ng lupa. Nakahanap kami last year, pero P33 million in Pilar, Manuguit.
